"Things just never seem to be

going well for this family of three -

so it's time for their adventurous neighbour to step in and help!

Through the power of some magical specs,

will Starla, Flo and her new friends be able to grant her family's wish at last? "

'Spectacular' was the first show written and produced by founder Tara in 2018.
The show started as a simple, 30minute storytelling puppetry show for very young children, taken to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which was reviewed by the Primary Times as 'Everything a Children's Show Should Be'.

During the pandemic in 2020, Tara worked with illustrator Jay Stelling to adapt the story into a children's rhyming picture book,
which led to further re-production of the show as it was commissioned by Iris Theatre to be performed as part of their
Summer Festival Programme in Covent Garden in 2021. The show is now full of songs, music, puppetry and interaction.
As well as taking the brand new musical adaption to London,
the new cast performed Spectacular at Hitchin's restored Open Air Theatre 'The Dell', which was a sell out!

Since 2021, a shortened version of Spectacular has been performed at festivals such as TOTFest, following on the mantra:

'Believe in yourself and what you can do, pick up your paintbrushes to make your dreams come true!'
Which we believe should be a mantra for life! Creativity and imagination is important for every single one of us,
and we all have the power to make our dreams come true!

"Starla was creative. Imagination was her thing!
She wrote her own stories with toys and some string.

"Flo was different. She liked science and numbers!
Her head full of facts, stars, potions and wonder.

The original show in 2019 was written by Tara Harris specifically for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Fiona, Steph and Tara took this short storytelling show into the intimate space of PQA Venues along
The Royal Mile and performed it to small audiences who immediately loved the characters, storyline and sweet puppets.
"It should be a book!" They said. Little did they know, Tara would take them up on that!
Thanks to Fiona and Steph bringing the characters to life, Tara was able to bring this important story to the stage and have helped carry on the story to 2021, where Tara is now writing the sequel; Mrs Marigold's Adventures...
